Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
I pray that this reaches you in the best of health and Eeman.
Among the many ways in which they were blessed, the Companions were informed of their ranking through revelation. This verse was revealed about Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him):
âÂÂAnd Al-Muttaqoon [the pious and righteous] will be far removed from it [Hell]. He who spends his wealth for increase in self-purification.â Surah Al-Lail â Ayahs 17-18.
âÂÂUmar (may Allah be pleased with him) was given glad tidings in this hadith:
âÂÂI saw a white castle in Paradise. I asked who it belonged to, and I was told that it belonged to âÂÂUmar ibn al-Khattab.âÂÂ
In the case of âÂÂUthmaan (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam made this supplication:
âÂÂOâ Allah, forgive âÂÂUthmaan for his past and future sins.âÂÂ
The Messenger of Allah Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam described âÂÂAli (may Allah be pleased with him) with the following:
âÂÂ(He is) a man who loves Allah and his Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him.âÂÂ
Concerning SaâÂÂad ibn MuâÂÂaadh (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah Sallalahu Alayhi Wasalam said:
âÂÂThe Throne of the Most-Merciful quaked for him.âÂÂ
And he said of Handhalah (may Allah be pleased with him) after he died:
âÂÂThe angels of the Most-Merciful washed him.âÂÂ
Wasalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu Ahsin.
